Full Biography

I have dedicated my career to promoting a shared understanding of complex ethical issues for healthier human systems.

I teach ethics and justice, and have a background in philosophy and public policy. I work primarily in practical ethics and am best known for my extensive fieldwork on climate justice, global poverty, and the just transition.

Over the past 15 years, I have been a faculty member of several academic institutions, teaching global ethics, climate justice, and moral leadership.

I started my career as a full-time staff of the UN Security Council (1997-2001), helping to pioneer modern war reparation and transitional justice programs in the aftermath of the Gulf War. In 2005-2006, he served on a high-level UN panel to review the UN’s efforts in preventing, controlling, and resolving conflicts.

I have worked with multiple transitional justice processes, including peace accords, war-reparation commissions, track II diplomatic efforts, and regional conflict prevention initiatives. He has led extensive fieldwork in more than 40 conflict-affected zones, including Iraq, the Central African Republic, the West Bank/Gaza, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Syria, Somalia, Ukraine (Donbass and Crimea), Pakistan (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province), Lebanon, among others.

Between 2004 and 2012, I served as a senior advisor to the Palestinian Authority’s Negotiations Support Unit (NSU) on three files of the Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiation process (refugees, settlements, and the security wall). Recently, I have helped setting up several programs and facilities supporting the Ukrainian war economy.

I am driven by the desire to understand how we can work together to live in harmony with one another in our natural habitat.

Originally from Brittany, France, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and politics with Phi Beta Kappa honors from Columbia University. I hold graduate degrees from Harvard University and London Business School. I am a former Sloan Fellow in Global Leadership from MIT.
